I have loved photographing familes during cherry blossom season, and while Branch Brook Park and Hurd Park are stunning, they can get pretty crowded. Last year I discovered some beautiful trees blooming right in Denville, Morris County in a quiet spot no one is ever in! The trees are long weeping cherry blossoms and are also next to a beautiful daffodil garden. This family reached out hoping to have a spring backdrop so this location was the perfect spot!

Jason was my coworker years ago at Cosmoplitan and I was so honored when he thought of me to photograph his family. We photographed his newborn in his manhattan home and even got some photos with his sweet cat. I focused on family photos all together and of course some photos of baby and each dad. Their nursery was Wizard of Oz themed so I included a lot of the details (rainbow rug, wizard of oz mobile, etc) in the backdrop. Loved those details + loved the amazing light this space made for beautiful newborn photos!

Cherry blossom season in New Jersey is short and sweet but so beautiful and makes such agreat backdrop for family photos. I especially love the weeping flowering trees in Branch Brook Park Newark which is where we took these cousin family photos! We took group photos of all the cousins together and made sure to get individual portraits and siblings together! The kids did such a great job and had fun together which is the best part! Below are a few of my favorite photos from the session!

I’ve had the honor of photographing this family twice before: Once as a family of 3 and then their maternity session! I was honored when they asked me back to take family photos once their newborn arrived. I photographed their newborn session in their home. Newborn sessions at home are my favorite as the baby is happy and cozy being held by family. Photos were taken when the baby was about 3 weeks old, which is right around when I recommend scheduling newborn sessions (2-3 weeks). Sharing some of my favorite photos below!

I’ve had the honor of photographing this family for exactly a decade. In April 2014, I photographed their engagement photos in Branch Brook Park, Newark during peak Cherry blossom season! Later on, I photographed their wedding, their family photos, 2nd pregnancy announcement, etc. A decade later, we revisited cherry blossom season and photographed their family under the pink blossoms at Hurd Park in Dover. Such an honor to continue to document their family and loved seeing it come full circle at cherry blossom season!!
